Loveland, COlorado
Andy and Suzanne live in the foothils west of Loveland. They enjoy all of the best things that Colorado has to offer with wildlife wandering through their yard and a great natural view. They purchased a piece of art that they always loved and wanted to complete their sancturary to enjoy this piece. Alpine Gardens was asked to create a speacial place to mount this piece of art and view it. A water feature was created that had a large waterfall and a smaller one. Two pumps were used so that if a quieter sound was desired one could be shut down to enjoy normal conversation. Special consideration had to be given to drainage that came through the backyard from a nearby road. The draintile is under the water feature to carry this away. The existing patio was exended to allow interaction with the water feature like sitting on the patio and wiggling your toes in the water. Colorful perennials and dwarf evergreens were added to soften the rock from the steps and water feature. The small lawn that was there for the dogs was difficult to maintain as the mower had to be brought up the steps each mowing. An artificial turf was chosen for the dogs to enjoy. It looks natural and will hold up to the large dogs.
