Our Work

Weeks Residence

Rustic Pergola

When Jeff and Christy Weeks of Greeley, Coloardo, asked Alpine Gardens to design and build their new backyard retreat, naturally, as a previous customer of Alpine Gardens, we were very excited and enthusiastic to get started.

Smith Residence

Alpine Gardens Landscaping Projects

Mark and Peggy Smith enlisted the help of Alpine Gardens to create an updated and functional outdoor room.  The existing space was nice, but it needed a fresh, new look.  The design called for a massive pergola, made from fiberglass, that would stretch the entire patio space.  A concern of the Smith's, was to create the feel of a room, yet not compromise the warming Colorado sunshine.  Therefore, the pergola's intent was to create structure, but not provide dense shade.  The design also included features such as a contemporary fire pit, an outdoor kitchen, a

Deck with a View

Shade Pergola

With an incredible view of the front range, Harold and Judy were looking to update their tired deck, while making it more enjoyable to use.  The wood deck was formerly painted white, making it hot in the intense Colorado afternoon sun.  The solution was to repair the deck, select a new paint color and add an overhead shade structure to help in the afternoon.  A custom pergola was designed to accommodate the challenging roof-lines while respecting the homeowner's request to maintain an open feel to the fabulous mountain view.

Wilson Residence

This country acreage was difficult to maintain for this customer and just did not have the desired curb appeal. The driveway was paved, a boulder outcropping was installed and ephram wheatgrass was installed and is unmowed and not watered.

Jordan Residence

These homeowners wanted a low maintenance landscape that added value and curb appeal to the home.  The front yard was totally removed including the walk.  A bubbling rock water feature was installed and colorful easy to care for xeric plants were planted.

Major Residence

New Stone Entry

This home is about 20 years old.  They had been having trouble with drainage and the concrete had been moving around.  The plantings were looking tired and difficult to maintain.  The front stoop was mudjacked and had a flagstone and slate update.  A new draintile system was installed to deal with drainage and a new flagstone and slate walkway was installed.  New plantings were combined with older plantings to give the landscape a fresh look.

Wildlife Sanctuary

Alpine Gardens Landscaping Projects

This customer was building a new home and is an avid bird watcher.  Our goal was to create a landscape that would attract a large number of varieties of birds.  Cover, feed and water were added to help this project be recognized by the City of Greeley and the Audubon Society as a wildlife friendly urban landscape.  A water feature was design with a perch to watch for predators and a shallow wading area.  Flowers were used that would attract migrating hummingbirds.  Evergreens and br

Backyard retreat

This home had been in foreclosure and a new landscape was called for when the new owners moved in.  The backyard had a nice deck but you felt really exposed to the neighbors when witting on it as it was so high in the air.  A pondless water feature was added and new Colorado red flagstone patio.  A flagstone bridge connects the new patio with the existing deck.  The entire yard was resodded and additional boulders were added in the front yard to soften the existing brick wall.  the owner plans to add her own color to complete the plantings on this fun project.

Landscape facelift

Alpine Gardens Landscaping Projects

When your company gets to be old enough sometimes you get to redo a project.  Twenty years ago this was one of our premier projects but time was starting to make it look somewhat dated and tired.  the challenge was that the timber walls were well built and were going to be quite expensive to remove.  We decided to use the timbers as a base and stucco over them.  We did a stone overlay for the patio and steps.

A spot to chill on the patio

Alpine Gardens Landscaping Projects

The owners of this project had a deck fail because poor construction but desperately wanted a new patio to be able to enjoy their wonderful western view.  The area was compacted, a new stamped concrete patio was constructed and the existing irrigation system was revamped.  A cedar pergola was installed and the existing flagstone walkway was reconfigured to meet the new patio.  new plantings were installed and it was party time!

Boulder low maintenance patio

The old redwood deck in this backyard was showing it's age and needing replacement.  The owners were busy professionals and were looking for an outdoor space that they could enjoy with very little needed maintence.  We considered many different design styles before we came upon a design that fit their tastes and needs.

Greeley play area

Alpine Gardens Landscaping Projects

A great western view for Colorado sunsets and a nearby hot tub along with an energetic group of teenagers called  for the owner of this property to ask for a water feature and a new easier to use gas fireplace.  The access to this property for materials was difficult so a large crane was used to move materials into the backyard.  A low voltage lighting system was added to the water feature to increase evening enjoyment .  Some of he existing large boulders were used for the bridge.  This is now a house to enjoy the views with an easy to care for landscape.
